"Hi! I started to teach at Acton in 1973. I am still here. My husband, Bruce, my daughter, Kaitlyn and I live in Georgetown. We still think that Acton High School is a great place to be. I am still teaching Physical Education and coaching Basketball and Track and Field and am the manager and trainer for the Girls Hockey Team. Bruce retired six years ago. He has come back as a volunteer coach and coaches Track and Field and Girls Hockey. Kaitlyn is 14 and in Grade 9 at Acton High. She plays Junior Girls Basketball, Girls Hockey and participates in Track and Field. Bruce and I are excited about the upcoming 25th Reunion this Spring. We look forward to seeing many former students and friends."

"I started teaching at Acton High School in 1980 and took the job for a year, planning on getting back to Toronto the following year. What can I say, I'm now into my 23rd year of teaching, and still here. Special thanks to the class of 1980-81 who were such a great group & made me feel at home at the start of my teaching career. Over the years I have taught: Technical Studies - Drafting and Design (all board drafting back then, now all Computer Aided Drafting), Wood Working, Transportation, Mathematics, Art, Interior Design, Business, Communications Technology and Special Education. I have coached gymnastics, volleyball & badminton and was the staff advisor for the yearbook for 7 years. I have two sons, Christopher (11) and Daniel (6). See you at the reunion!"

"Tom and Suzi lead a dog's life. Tom is a retarded teacher now (I know most of you thought I always was retarded) after 24 years at Acton. Suzi was a vice-principal in Burlington until she became disabled 10 years ago. So our life is focused on our dogs -- wonderful Golden Retrievers. "I taught Math and Geography for one great year from 1981 to '82 at Acton High. I was on a 'one year less a day' contract. After my year, I accepted a contract with the Waterloo Board and over the years moved from teaching to administration. I am presently the Principal of Cameron Heights Collegiate in Kitchener. I am retiring in
June. My year at Acton High School was perhaps the most enjoyable of my career. I was very involved with the Outers Club and the Voyageur Teams during my stay and continued competing as a voyageur for many years with the school teams after my departure. I still cherish the lasting friendships and experiences that I acquired during my stay at your great school."

"Taught mathematics and computer science at Acton High School, 1974 to 1980. Joan and I moved into town the summer of 1980 and we have lived in Acton ever since. Now our two children attend AHS. I am currently a vice-principal at that other high school in Halton Hills. However, I must say, that each night when I drive home I know that it is always WORTH THE DRIVE TO ACTON!!! Hope to see everyone at our 25th reunion ..."

"I was Principal at Acton High School from January 1994 to June 1998 and retired that June. The students and staff at Acton High are the best! I have been enjoying singing with The Over Tones, a Guelph women's
barbershop chorus since I was at Acton (thanks, Paul Tamblyn!). We have three grandchildren close by and that's fun too! I've done some travelling -- to Spain and France in the spring and will take a trip to Mexico with a
group of friends in February '03."

Hi everyone. I'm a former Acton High English teacher and teacher librarian. I came to the school in 1970 after teaching in Hamilton, Burlington, and Africa. I retired from Acton in 1998. Currently, I am living in Mississauga and am now married to the former Louise Gatenby-Krueger who was a Family Studies and a Guidance Counsellor at Acton High. I am enjoying meeting new friends and reawakening an old travel bug having been to Europe and Central America, and just returning from the most challenging of the trips, a sled haul in the Arctic. "Acton was home for 13 years and I treasure every minute of my time there. My husband Steve, daughter Laura, and I live in Etobicoke of the megacity. I took early retirement last year and I'm thoroughly enjoying the pace of life. Doing some traveling, gardening, cycling, writing and generally spending more time with family. Life's good. I'd love to hear from you."

"I first came to Acton High School in November of 1981 to teach mathematics and had such a great time that I remained there until I retired in June 2006. I have many fond memories of the students in my classes as well as the many camping trips we used to do with the school. After I retired I moved to Ancaster and continue to spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors. I'm looking forward to the 2008 reunion."

"Me, I'm Dave Jones, who taught at AHS from '74 to '99. I started in science and ended up in student services/guidance. (Early Outers events with Doc and Wally R. introduced me to the school.) When I retired we had four kids at home still. Now do some boating, lots of hiking, some volunteer work and make donuts PT for Tim H. in Arthur and Mt. Forest. Was diagnosed with chronic fatigue so have many OK days and a few SLOW days."

"Wow, its been a long time, but seems like only yesterday I was teaching math at Acton (1980 to 1986). It was a great way to begin a career, surrounded by supportive and helpful teachers and of course, wonderful students. I'm in my 22nd year now, my 10th here at Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Here with my wife Linda and two boys, Mason (11) and Brendan (10). Love it down here, but miss my friends back home. If I'm not there for the reunion, know that I'm thinking of you."

"I was a teacher at Acton High School from 1970 until 1985. I have fond memories of teaching math, physics, science and then being a guidance counsellor. I think I learned more about life and people than anything I might have taught the students. I am now retired and living in Guelph with my husband Jurg. We have 2 grandchildren and 4 children between us...the "children" being grown up and scatter from Toronto to New Zealand. We have done lots of travelling and I am very busy doing community work and running a little counselling practice. I look forward to greeting former students and staff at the Reunion!"

"Several changes since last entry. Taught Sciences and 'Outered' there from 1970-1979, thence moved to Douglas area of Renfrew County (aka "The Boonies") for five years in business with an outdoor co-op. Returned to teach
in max. security jail, adult storefront schools, industrial plants, and convent'l classrooms etc. throughout the Ottawa Valley. Bev & I ret'd from teaching in '02. She now costumes for the NAC in Ottawa and The Stratford
Festival three to four months per year while I am a Paramedic for the County of Renfrew. Travel to SW England, the Czech Republic and a seven-week trekking trip in the Solo-Khumbu (Everest) Region of Nepal (2005) have enriched our lives. Currently we are hosting two Nepali guides as they learn re Canada and work in

"Taught Music, computers and math for 25 years (1974-1999). Once I got here I didn't want to leave. Now living in Pakenham, near Ottawa. Playing as much music as possible, and running a small computer business. Daughter Margaret and husband Fred live nearby in Almonte. Son Jim is now in England and working throughout the continent. Sue (AHS nurse 1969-1970) is busy nursing and quilting. We hope to get back for the reunion."

"Hi, I am Geoff Sansom and I started teaching at Acton in Sept 1969, and I retired 29 years later having finally completed my High Scool education and after teaching English, Theatre Arts, Media, and Creative Writing. I now live in Guelph where I maintain a counselling practice for about 20 + hours a week. I remember a lot of you guys very fondly. They were good days, and when they weren't, they weren't that bad and we probably laugh about them now. All the best with your reunion; I regret that I won't be there. "Hi! It is Doc. We are living in Kingston Mills, Ontario, and I still work with music and barbershoppers. I am a certified Trainer of Choral Directors. And I know Tom would say I should have been certified a long time ago. We are busy working in the woods and last year's project was the classiest log outhouse on Devil Lake. This year's project is a timberframe 40 ft. by 12 ft. (notice the metric) storage shed for canoes and stuff."

"My association with Acton goes back to 1976 when I married Bill Taylor. Both of our children attended Acton High School, I was the key supply teacher from 1991-1996 and a member of staff from 1997-1999, teaching everything from history to English and even keyboarding! I am currently teaching History and Sociology at Aldershot (the second smallest Halton school!) in Burlington. I am fortunate because I can still keep my close contacts with Acton through Bill. I'm looking forward to meeting up with old friends and former students at the reunion."
